The judge

Amit has it all planned, his only sister married a rogue, who ruined her, after seeing her plight and pain he decided to settle his score with him. So he started to pile up money in dishonest way, but after amassing a lot of money he realized that his brother in law was still out of his reach. So he decided to settle his score with the rest of his family. He started to think about all possible ways and prowl around his home.

He could not locate his brother in law or his family but he located his ancestral home, and his uncle’s family, to his great pleasure he found out that his brother in law had a cousin sister, with his deviated mind he thought that he will settle his score with her and avenge his sister’s destruction.

He confided in Sanjay his friend, who loved his sister with all her heart but could not marry her because his family did not consented to their marriage. Together they weaved a plan, first befriended one of her friends and Sanjay started to visit her as a friend’s friend. To fool the idealist girl he used to call her sister while she was present and once out of the house he used to pretend as if they were having an affair.

That acted as a catastrophe to the girl’s image because she was too idealist, she was one of those women who believed in having only one mate, and had turned down too many romantic approaches just because of that. Hence, the people she has turned down in the past had a chance to settle their scores against her.

Sanjay started to act like a Trojan horse, during his frequent visit to the house mostly in absence of the girl he pried out all the secrets he could and used them. Just like every family that family too had some small and big secrets which if used effectively could have ruined them, and he did exactly that. As every one thought that he was that girl’s friend every one started to despise her. Whereas she never knew that she was being used as a pawn. Slowly her relationship became so bad with her house she left the home and settled elsewhere.

But as sometimes God plays strange games she was maneuvered to a place where Amit had an extremely strong hold, so he started to settle his score with great gusto. He used to place some of his gang members to wherever she used to frequent, it worked both ways, harassing her and obtaining links for his next operation. Even though he could not corrupt her after trying for years, but he thought that he has avenged his sister, the entire family of his brother in law’s uncle was ruined, because he believed that the friend of an enemy is an enemy.

Then fate took a strange turn, one after one member of the two families started to perish, he and Sanjay both have married by then, no matter how they tried but their wife never conceived. They both were only sons of their family.

It seemed as if wherever they or their families went bad luck was sure to follow, flood, accident, earthquakes…. They could realize two things, first that it was not done by man. And second, if you harm a person who has not harmed you, they may not be able to harm you back, but there is someone else who keeps the score, and with time settles it.

  1. Okay. I share the moral of the story. I have seen instances of such things happening. But the story has the same story line with many of your other stories. May be this was why your stories were not accepted by the msn after some time.

You like intrigue (at least narrating it) and writes a lot about it. And you like Sherlock Holms. Ever try writing a detective story? Its just a suggestion.

In the present stories events are related in an all knowing angle. Even the harassed individual knows where the trouble lies, and who is behind the treachery. Why not conceal it from her/him altogether and make it more mysterious? The person starts to feel that something bad is working against him/her. None that they know or interact seems to be behind it. But the attacks continue. Who is behind it. They seek the help of some one to solve it. Slowly things come out and fits together to form a clear picture. This type of fiction is always intriguing and will get you out of the trap of writing the same story line over and over again.

    Just a suggestion though.

  3. Please don't be miserable because the same story line crops up every now and then. You know, there is only one theme for stories or literature or poetry. The theme of love. There is no other theme at all. This is the one limitation all writers face. Some try to over come it by adopting different treatment of the subject matter. Some by using different settings. But let me tell you all are writing the same story over and over again. Other than love what else is there to write about. Write more dear Trisha, the more you write the more insightful with words you become :)
